About us

Welcome to Doone Valley Campsite, or to those who have been before, 'Carols Campsite'. The campsite is at the heart of The Exmoor National Park and nestled in the Doone Valley made famous by Richard Doddridge Blackmore who wrote the novel 'Lorna Doone'.

This is a family campsite with toilets, Free hot showers and pot wash. We also now have free WIFI on site. The campsite is comprised of level fields beside a shallow stream set in the valley surrounded by hills and trees, and with easy access through the car park at Malmsmead.

Horse grazing is available for campers on horseback. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome and campfires are allowed with logs for sale. Not far from the camp site is a licensed Bar and Café.

This is an ideal way to get away from it all and experience the natural beauty of Exmoor around you. There are many walks around including the famous Doone Valley walk and if you are very lucky and quiet you may just get to see some Red Deer.
